A group of newly posted graduate teachers has expressed frustration after being prevented by security personnel from presenting a petition to President John Mahama during the launch of the Adwumawura programme in Kumasi.

The teachers, some of whom have worked for between five and eight months without pay, say they are also yet to receive their staff ID numbers-delays they blame on the government's directive to revoke public service appointments made after December 7, 2024.

In a video circulating on social media, some of the teachers-graduates and Colleges of Education trainees-were seen kneeling and pleading for the President's attention as he arrived at the Prempeh Assembly Hall on Monday, April 28, for the event.

According to the teachers, they have received no formal communication from the Ghana Education Service (GES) or the Ministry of Education about whether they will be reposted or permanently affected by the revocations.
