A Monarchical Historian at the Manhyia Palace, Opanin Osei-Bonsu Safo-Kantanka has given assurance that the demise of the Mamponghene, Daasebere Osei Bonsu II, will not affect the ongoing meditation effort in the Bawku crisis, spearheaded by the Asantehene, .
He said the Ashanti Kingdom has a hierarchy which gives the second in command automatic right to lead when the leader is not around, therefore, the demise of the Mamponghene cannot stop the mediation process in any way. "The demise cannot affect any deliberations, including the ongoing Bawku mediation," he said.
The monarchical historian noted that though the demise is a big blow in the kingdom, it will not necessarily affect business since there is someone to act in his stead.
He further disclosed that the funeral will be more of a spiritual thing, although there will be physical activities, including a befitting burial rite.
