Former hiplife musician-turned-gospel minister, Yaw Siki, has reflected on the battles he endured after leaving behind his old life as a secular artist. Appearing on the GTV Breakfast Show, the "Wop3 Dodo" hitmaker shared how the transition from fame and fun to a life of spiritual discipline came with major sacrifices-especially in the early stages of his walk with Christ.According to Yaw Siki, one of the hardest things he had to do was deny himself opportunities that could have brought him significant financial relief.
He recalled being tempted with music gigs shortly after his decision to follow Christ, at a time when he was completely broke-but still, he said no. "I remember when I transformed fresh following the Lord Jesus and on waiting, some peeps called and they wanted me on a song and on a show but I had to deny myself that meanwhile I had nothing on me," he recalled.
Though his earlier life was filled with excitement, fame, and success, the rapper said it eventually left him feeling hollow.
