Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation, Dr.
Tony Aubynn, has expressed deep frustration over the entrenched political interests hampering Ghana's fight against illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.
Speaking on The Big Issue on Channel One TV on Monday, April 28, Dr.
Aubynn said Ghana possesses the necessary resources to curb illegal mining but the complicity of influential political figures makes the fight almost impossible. "I think we have the arsenals to reduce it in such a way that people can leave it," he stated.
