The Interior Minister, Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, has called on the people of Binduri to respect ongoing security measures to maintain peace in the area.

In a statement issued on April 26, the Minister announced that the curfew in Binduri Township and surrounding communities will remain in place, from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am daily, starting Sunday, April 27, 2025.

The decision, backed by the Upper East Regional Security Council and formalised through an Executive Instrument, comes as authorities work to prevent any escalation of tensions.

Alhaji Muntaka also reminded residents that the ban on the movement of motorbikes, tricycles, popularly known as 'aboboyaa', remains fully in effect. "Anyone - man or woman - found riding motorbikes, tricycles, or 'aboboyaa' will be arrested and prosecuted," the statement emphasised.
