Mediation efforts aimed at resolving the ongoing Bawku crisis will resume today under the leadership of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.

The mediation, which has been agreed upon by both parties involved in the conflict, will take place from April 28 to May 1, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, a respected traditional leader with a strong history of conflict resolution, has been entrusted with the task of facilitating dialogue and finding a lasting peace for the people of Bawku in the Upper East Region, which has experienced prolonged tensions and violence.

In his statement, the Asantehene called on all stakeholders to come together and cooperate during the mediation process, emphasizing that unity and collaboration are crucial for the success of the peace talks. "I request all stakeholders to cooperate so that we can find a lasting peace in Bawku," Otumfuo said.
