A number of New Patriotic Party members in the Western Region have responded to a call by former Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Agyapong, that the party should show amnesty to its defectors.

Speaking in Takoradi during former Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's "Thank You" tour, Kennedy Agyapong stunned the party's supporters when he asked to have mercy on former Minister of Trade, Alan Kyerematen, who quit the NPP to form his own political movement as well as a former National Chairman of the party, Paul Afoko, and others whose misconduct led the NPP to suspend them.

Some NPP members expressed their displeasure with Kennedy's plea. "No way!

This cannot happen.
