Dr Louisa Hannah Bissiw, the National Women's Organizer of the opposition (NDC), has criticised the Member of Parliament for Trobu, Gloria Owusu, over her remarks about President 's administration.

Gloria Owusu accused Mahama of disliking women in the country, following his suspension of the current Chief Justice, Gertrude Araba Torkonoo.

Responding to these accusations in an interview on Neat FM on April 25, 2025, Dr Bissiw argued that President Mahama is one of the most supportive leaders of women, more so than any other president.

She credited him for appointing the first female Vice President in Ghana's history.
