The (NDC) ary Caucus has clarified that it will not interfere in the Youth Employment Agency's (YEA) sanitation contract with waste management firm Zoom Ghana Limited.

In a statement dated Friday, April 25, 2025, the Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business, Mahama Ayariga, refuted claims suggesting that the ary Sanitation Committee had been authorised to influence the YEA's decision. "The ' (NDC) ary Caucus in has not authorised the Sanitation Committee of to interfere with the work of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in its decision regarding the sanitation module contract with Zoomlion," he stated. "The Chairman of the Committee has reported to me that, contrary to media reports, neither he nor any committee member has attempted to do any such thing," he added.

The statement further clarified that comments made by individual committee members do not reflect the official position of . "Any comments made by any member of the Sanitation Committee which appear to defend Zoomlion's sanitation contract with YEA should be ignored by the YEA or the public, as they do not represent the decision or opinion of the Committee or ," he indicated.

The Majority Leader also cautioned Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) against yielding to pressure from any authority to engage a particular sanitation company. "No Metropolitan, Municipal, or District Assembly should, in any form or manner, allow itself to be intimidated by any authority into entering a sanitation contract with any specific company," he warned.
