The acting Chief Justice, Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has introduced a sweeping change in the way Ghana's superior courts handle new case filings.

A directive dated April 23, 2025, now requires all fresh cases and applications to pass through his office for assignment and scheduling.

Communicated through the Deputy Judicial Secretary, the directive applies to Registrars of the Supreme Court, Courts of Appeal, and High Courts.

Under the new system, all newly filed matters must first be presented to the acting Chief Justice, who will then determine the appropriate court and panel of judges to handle each case.
