The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced that basic military training will be introduced for all national service personnel starting on August 3, 2025.

This announcement follows a meeting held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, between NSA leaders and the Military High Command at the Ministry of Defence in Accra.

This initiative reflects President John Dramani Mahama's proposal during his first State of the Nation Address to Parliament on February 27, 2025, where he recommended short-term military training for graduates to foster discipline, patriotism, and physical readiness.
