Former Deputy CEO of the Ghana National Youth Authority, Akosua Manu, has expressed deep frustration following the unexpected demolition of a newly commissioned four-seater toilet facility in Adjiringanor, barely a day after it was handed over to the community.
In a strongly worded statement shared on Facebook, Ms.
Manu, who also served as Deputy Director of Communications at the Office of the former First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, described the act as not just an assault on infrastructure, but on the community's wellbeing and dignity. "I'm deeply dismayed and saddened by the sudden demolition of the newly commissioned four-seater toilet facility in Adjiringanor by individuals claiming to be officials of the Ghana GRID Company (GRIDCo) than 24 hours after I officially handed over the facility to the community," she stated.
The facility, according to her, was constructed in response to the long-standing sanitation needs of residents who have had no access to a proper place of convenience. "The excitement and relief that greeted its commissioning yesterday have now been cruelly truncated, leaving the community in shock," she added.
