The Doctors Association of Tamale Teaching Hospital (DATTH) has issued a strong press statement defending one of its members who came under intense public scrutiny following a widely circulated video on social media.
The video, which captures a tense exchange between the Head of the Accident and Emergency Department and the newly appointed Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has sparked heated public debate.
The incident occurred during the minister's visit to the hospital on April 22, 2025, amid concerns over the handling of a referred patient's case that unfortunately ended in death.
According to DATTH, the social media narrative and subsequent media reports misrepresent what actually transpired.
