President John Dramani Mahama has formally constituted a five-member committee to investigate three separate petitions lodged against Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo, following the establishment of a prima facie case.

The move comes after consultations with the Council of State, in accordance with Article 146(6) of the 1992 Constitution.

The committee is tasked with conducting a full inquiry into allegations of misconduct, abuse of office, and constitutional breaches leveled against the Chief Justice.

The committee members are: Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang, Justice of the Supreme Court - Chairman Justice Samuel Kwame Adibu-Asiedu, Justice of the Supreme Court - Member Daniel Yaw Domelevo, Former Auditor-General - Member Major Flora Bazwaanura Dalugo, Ghana Armed Forces - Member Professor James Sefah Dzisah, Associate Professor, University of Ghana - Member The diverse composition of the committee reflects a blend of legal, academic, military, and accountability expertise.
