The National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), , has called for legal processes to take their due course in the removal of the Chief Justice of the Republic, Gertrude Araba Torkonoo.

Using a proverbial statement, Asiedu Nketiah emphasized the dangers of blaming the Chief Justice during her final days in office.

He suggested that anyone calling for her dismissal might even face consequences.

Speaking in an interview on Radio Gold on April 18, 2025, he stated, "When an old woman is about to die, she becomes very dangerous; anybody who would say she should die might even die before her.
