The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has clarified that the exhibition of the Provisional Voters Register is intended to correct errors and omissions. The EC explained that the final register for elections is printed after all identified issues have been corrected, emphasising that this has been the standard practice since 1992. This response from the EC stems from concerns raised by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the just-ended Provisional Voter Register exhibition is characterized by discrepancies. The NDC, therefore, demanded an emergency meeting with the electoral management body. However, in a post on Facebook on Wednesday, August 28, the EC stated "The rationale for exhibiting the Provisional Voters Register is to correct errors and omissions. "It is only after all identified issues are corrected that the Final Register is printed for the Elections.
