The Metropolitan Archbishop of Cape Coast, Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle, has said that he wishes God will receive the deceased Pope Francis into his bosom as Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He said the Catholic Church had been praying for over two months for the late pontiff after they heard about his ailment.

He added that now that he is dead, they wish him a peaceful rest. "We've been praying for almost two months for the will of God to be done.

Our holy father has been ill since February 14, when he was hospitalisied and we have been following for updates from the doctors," he said.
