President has urged African countries to reposition themselves to take full advantage of the shifting dynamics in global geopolitics and trade.

Speaking at the Kwahu Business Forum on Saturday, April 19, 2025, President Mahama stated that that continent has consistently missed out on the economic benefits of major global transitions.

He emphasised the need for Africa to reduce its dependence on imports by building resilient economies focused on manufacturing, industrialisation, digital entrepreneurship, and agribusiness. "The world is changing, and new opportunities are being thrown up, and we as a country must take advantage of those opportunities.

Africa must shake itself out of the mindset that we are only traders; we can be anything that we want", he noted.
