The Ghana Police Service have arrested 26 individuals in connection with illegal mining activities in a forest reserve near Samreboi in the Western Region.

The intelligence-led operation, part of Ghana's ongoing fight against galamsey, was carried out by multiple police units, including the Intelligence Directorate, CID, National Operations Directorate, and Formed Police Unit.

Six Chinese, two Koreans, and 18 Ghanaians were arrested during the operation.

Authorities confiscated eight excavators, while five others were left behind due to transport difficulties.
