Education think tank Africa Education Watch (Eduwatch) has urged the government to prioritise resource allocation for the effective implementation of the newly reviewed basic education curriculum.

This follows the inauguration of a committee to review the basic education curriculum by the Education Minister on April 16, 2025.

Speaking to Citi News in an interview on Thursday, April 17, Executive Director of Eduwatch, Kofi Asare, highlighted the poor implementation of the current curriculum due to inadequate resources.

He called on the government to ensure that the new curriculum is adequately resourced. "Let's admit that reviewing a curriculum is one thing, and effectively implementing a curriculum is another.
