The Ghana Hydrological Authority has said that an amount of $5 billion is needed to effectively combat the country's ongoing flood issues. Dr. John Kissi, the Authority's Chief Executive Officer, presented this critical need to the Assurances Committee in Parliament on August 28. Dr. Kissi outlined that the current funding level falls short of what is needed. "In 2023, we were allocated GHC92 million under the National Flood Control Programme.
