The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), in a joint operation with the National Security, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, and the Ghana Armed Forces, has arrested 219 foreign nationals in a major cybercrime and human trafficking bust in Oyarifa, a suburb of Accra.
Codenamed "Operation Rescue Shield," the intelligence-led raid targeted a suspected cybercrime hub believed to be exploiting young people under the guise of lucrative job offers in Ghana.
Those arrested include 218 Nigerians and one Ghanaian, aged between 15 and 38 years.
Among them are 11 minors, seven females, and 212 males.
