The Government of Ghana has assured workers at Damang Mine of job security following its decision to assume operational control after the expiration of the Abosso Gold Fields' lease agreement on April 18, 2025.

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, declare this during a press briefing on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

He pledged the government's commitment to uninterrupted operations, job protection and honoring all valid service contracts. "We want to assure the hardworking employees, contractors and service providers at Damang that your dedication has been the backbone of this mine and it will remain indispensable.

All essential services-from security to healthcare, fuel supply to camp management-will continue without interruption.
