Member of Parliament (MP) for Akuapem North, Sammy Awuku, has attributed Ghana's 5.7% growth rate to a solid foundation laid by the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

His assertion comes in the wake of the 4th review meeting between the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the government of Ghana.

According to Awuku, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presented flawed statistics in the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy, as well as in President John Dramani Mahama's recent State of the Nation address, in an attempt to antagonise the NPP administration. "The aftermath of the 4th review meeting between the IMF and the government of Ghana has put to rest the false allegations by the NDC.

The NDC claimed the economy was in tatters.
