The National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), , has issued a stern warning to party members eyeing the 2028 presidential slot, urging them to shelve their ambitions and focus on governance.

Speaking during an interview on the Citizen's Show with Kwabena Bobie Ansah on Accra 100.5 FM on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, Mr.

Nketia cautioned that premature jostling for leadership positions could derail the party's focus and undermine the gains expected under President John Dramani Mahama's administration. "We are a party in government, and we must focus on delivering on the massive mandate Ghanaians gave us during the December 2024 elections," he stated. "Any distraction from that mission will hurt not just our performance but also our chances in 2028.

Our faith is firmly linked to John Mahama's success," Asiedu Nketia told party leaders.
