A leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) legal and communications team, Victor Kwadjoga Adawudu, has refuted allegations by the Minority in Parliament that the government manipulated economic figures tied to Ghana's International Monetary Fund (IMF) deal.
Speaking on Channel One TV's Breakfast Daily on Wednesday, April 16, Adawudu pushed back against claims that fiscal data had been doctored to create a misleading impression of economic stability ahead of the country securing a staff-level agreement with the IMF.
Once approved by the IMF Executive Board, the agreement is expected to unlock an additional US$370 million under the three-year Extended Credit Facility (ECF) programme.
The Minority had raised concerns about what they described as inconsistencies in the data presented by the government, accusing officials of massaging figures for political gain.
