Matthew Opoku Prempeh, who served as the Running Mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 presidential election, has reiterated his commitment to party unity.
Speaking in an interview on Wednesday, April 16, Prempeh stressed the importance of building cohesion within the party as it looks toward selecting a flagbearer for the 2028 elections. "My interest now is to get a united party for a flagbearer to be eventually crowned," he stated, underscoring his focus on strengthening internal unity.
He also responded to rumours about his political future, firmly dismissing suggestions that he plans to contest the flagbearer slot. "No, I am not running 2028," he remarked, ending ongoing speculation about his intentions.
