The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has expelled Frank Anderson, an MPhil student from the Department of Special Education, for his involvement in a fraudulent scheme involving fake admissions, forged certificates, and falsified academic records.
Investigations revealed that Anderson posed as someone who could alter grades, fix ICs, and secure "protocol admissions" for fees between GHS 1,000 and GHS 3,000.
Though he never accessed the official grading system, he and his accomplices used fake PDFs and WASSCE certificates to deceive students, mainly operating around Suhum, Mangoase, Nsawam, and Winneba.
Students who paid to have their grades manipulated or entered the university through these fraudulent means have also been withdrawn.
