The Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini, has recounted how a woman attempted to transfer votes from his constituency to another under pretense. According to him, the woman gathered several women with the promise of providing them jobs in Techiman, hence the need for them to transfer their votes. He added that after the constituents noticed some suspicious behaviour from the woman, they attempted to lynch her until he intervened. Following an investigation into the matter, the woman claimed she was transferring votes to support her brother, who was contesting a parliamentary seat, he added. Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on August 28, he said, "In my constituency, for instance, I had to intervene to save a lady who was almost lynched because she had gotten a bus and went to pick young women who were being trained in hairdressing and sewing.
