The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has confirmed that four armed robbery suspects were gunned down by police during a shootout.
According to ASP Piasa Darkwa, Deputy Crime Officer, the suspects had earlier attacked a rural bank, injuring four people and making away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Following the bank robbery, the suspects targeted residents, stealing phones, cash, and other valuables.
They also set up a roadblock between Akokeri and Anwiankwan, robbing travellers of their belongings, including computers.
