A 28-year-old driver, Razak Sulley, has been remanded into lawful custody by the Adentan Circuit Court after allegedly attempting to escape from the custody of the Madina Divisional Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
Sulley, who is facing a charge of escaping from lawful custody, pleaded not guilty.
Narrating his side of the incident, Sulley told the court that he had not been fed while in police cells and approached the investigator to ask whether his GHC35-allegedly taken at the police counter-could be used to buy food.
He claimed he was slapped for doing so and expressed regret over his subsequent actions.
