Correspondence from Eastern Region The Akyem Tafo Traditional Council has officially launched the 2025 Ohumkan Festival, which will also commemorate the 40th anniversary of the enstoolment of Daasebre Adusei Peasah IV, Omanhene of Akyem Tafo.
Speaking at the forecourt of the Tafo Anwansa Ahenfie on Sunday, April 13, Kyidomhene Nana Adepa Amponsah Yeboah I highlighted the significance of the dual celebration and called for public support and participation in the festival activities. "Leadership is a critical ingredient in development, and Daasebre Adusei Peasah IV has demonstrated unmatched commitment to Akyem Tafo's progress in education, health, youth empowerment, and culture over the past four decades," she noted.
Under Daasebre's leadership, the traditional area has witnessed notable initiatives, including the Akyem Tafo Educational Fund, annual health screenings, infrastructure development such as CHPS compounds, and a multipurpose community resource centre currently under construction.
His dedication to environmental sustainability and agricultural excellence has also earned him international recognition, including the Best Cocoa Flavor Award from the International Cocoa Awards in France (2015).
