The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission, Isaac Tandoh, has assured Ghanaians that the government's intensified efforts to clamp down on illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, will soon yield tangible results.
Despite numerous attempts by successive governments to eliminate the menace of galamsey, results have been largely minimal.

Tandoh acknowledged the devastating environmental impact of illegal small-scale mining in Ghana, citing its far-reaching consequences on water bodies, ecosystems, agricultural lands, and biodiversity.
