The Minority Caucus is calling on the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) and the NDC government to stop making excuses and take immediate action to increase the producer price of cocoa.
This follows COCOBOD's announcement on April 9, 2025, that cocoa prices will remain the same for the 2025/2026 season.
During a press conference in Kumasi on April 14, 2025, Isaac Yaw Opoku, the Minority Caucus Spokesperson and MP for Offinso South, expressed disappointment, describing the decision as a significant blow to hardworking cocoa farmers across the country. "We're here today to voice our concerns over the government's failure to adjust the cocoa price.
On April 8, 2025, COCOBOD released a letter on the cocoa price adjustment for the 2025/2026 season," he said.
