The Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, Mustapha Foyo Gbande, has spoken out against the approach taken by National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) operatives in their attempt to arrest the Member of for Assin South, Rev .
According to Gbande, the method employed by the operatives was completely unacceptable.
He emphasised that the appropriate procedure, as prescribed by law, would have been to formally invite the MP rather than attempting a direct arrest.
He explained that the operatives should have recognised the lawmaker's status as a sitting Member of and extended the appropriate courtesies, such as initiating contact via a formal phone call. "It wasn't necessarily wrong, but it was not acceptable.
