A group of newly posted teachers assigned to the Ashanti Region in July 2024 staged a protest at the Ghana Education Service (GES) headquarters in Accra on Monday, April 14, demanding the payment of eight months' salary arrears and the resolution of issues concerning their identification (ID) documents.

In an interview with Citi News, some of the teachers expressed deep frustration over the financial strain caused by the delayed payments.

Abdul Majeed, one of the affected teachers, said, "We are here because of our unpaid salaries.

Some of us have been working for eight months, and while a few have received their pay, many of us have not.
