The once bustling Belpeila Dam in the Tamale South Constituency of the Northern Region has turned into a dry field due to the intense impact of climate change.

The dam, which served residents of Belpeila and its surrounding communities, including students from the St.

Charles Minor Seminary, with water for various uses, has dried up, forcing women to dig miniature wells to access water.

As the people of Tamale and its environs continue to battle water shortages, hope seems to be fading as major dams that once served as a source of relief are now drying up, largely due to the effects of climate change.
