A youth group affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Okaikwei Central Constituency has threatened to withdraw its support for the party if their preferred candidate, Abdul-Rashid Issah, is not appointed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Okaikwei North.

Their warning follows growing speculation that the position may be handed to a nominee from the Okaikwei North Constituency, a neighbouring electoral area.

At a media briefing in Accra on Sunday, April 13, the group accused the NDC leadership of consistently sidelining their constituency despite its unwavering support and contribution to the party's success.

Abass Yusif Hussein, the Branch Executive and spokesperson for the group, said, "As an MCE, he will bring inclusiveness, harmony and participatory governance.
