Pupils of the Pantang Hospital Primary School in the La Nkwantanang Madina Municipality of the Greater Accra Region have been forced to resort to open defecation due to the lack of adequate toilet facilities.

Some students now use urinals as makeshift toilets, raising serious health concerns among teachers and parents.

A growing sanitation crisis is unfolding at the school, where poor infrastructure and administrative gridlock have left hundreds of children without access to safe and hygienic sanitation.

The school, situated on land belonging to Pantang Hospital, faces developmental setbacks due to plans by the hospital to reclaim the land.
