Dr. Samuel Ben Owusu, Country Director of the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), has advised the government of Ghana to prioritize investments in peace sustainability, emphasizing that it is a critical component of national development. Speaking at the National Peace Council and Prophets for Peaceful Elections 2024 dialogue, Dr. Owusu expressed surprise at the under-resourcing of the National Peace Council, despite its crucial role in maintaining peace. "If the government is interested in peace, then it must invest in it. Peace sustainability is expensive, and it needs funds to sustain it," he stressed.
