Parliament will temporarily relocate its sittings to the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) due to ongoing refurbishment work in the main chamber of Parliament House. This temporary move will take effect when Parliament resumes on September 3, 2024. The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, announced the change of venue in a statement dated August 27, 2024. According to Bagbin, the decision is in accordance with Article 112(3) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana and the standing orders of the House. The ongoing refurbishment of the parliamentary chamber, which is part of the E-Parliament Project to digitize parliamentary proceedings, is estimated to cost €2.26 million.
