Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh has condemned the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, over his promise to recruit into the police service residents of Bawku who lay down their arms amid the conflict in the area.

Speaking during a press conference held by the Minority on April 11, 2025, he described the IGP's statement as "unfortunate" and potentially damaging, given the sensitive nature of national security and importance of fairness in law enforcement recruitments. "The comment of the IGP - this is purported to be his major public statement ever since he was appointed and maybe he made that statement just on the spur of the moment but it is clearly an unfortunate statement," he stated.

He continued, "it is most unfortunate to say that if you lay down your arms, you'll be considered for recruitment.

It is out of place.
