The Member of Parliament for Mpraeso, Davis Ansah Opoku, has called on traditional leaders and community elders to play a pivotal role in ending the cycle of violence at Bawku.

He indicated that the conflict in the upper northern town has hindered the region's development and affected the younger generation's future prospects.

In an Adomonline post on X, it stated that Opoku emphasised that the unrest is not only costing lives and properties, but also impacting crucial sectors like education, health, and infrastructure. "Bawku is lagging behind in terms of development.

Stakeholders must reflect on the long-term impact of the conflict," he indicated.
