President John Dramani Mahama has condemned the latest outbreak of violence in Bawku, calling for calm and reaffirming his government's commitment to supporting the peace process already underway in the troubled area.

Speaking during the Graduation Parade of the Ghana Military Academy on Friday, April 11, 2025, the President acknowledged the complex security challenges faced by the Ghana Armed Forces, especially in conflict-prone zones such as Bawku. "The Ghana Armed Forces is engaged in several threats to maintain peace and security in our nation.

One major flash point is the Bawku area.

Only two days ago, a situation that took place in the market triggered an unfortunate loss of life and criminal vandalism of property.
