President John Dramani Mahama has announced a significant upgrade of the Ghana Military Academy's Commissioning Course to Post-Graduate Diploma status.
Speaking at the Ghana Military Academy Graduation, Regular Career Course 63, he announced the coming on stream of a National Defence University with a Presidential Charter, which will provide the institution with the mandate to pursue extensive teaching and learning, thereby contributing to the development of effective national defence strategies He underscored that the Military Academy's commissioning course will now be elevated to a Post-Graduate Diploma program, providing newly commissioned officers with advanced training and qualifications.
According to the president, the move aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of military officers, aligning with the National Defence University's standards.
He emphasised that the upgrade is part of the government's efforts to improve the Ghana Military Academy's facilities and resources, enabling it to achieve its mandate effectively. "I am particularly elated about the coming on stream of the National Defence University with the Presidential Charter.
