Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations Samuel Nartey George (Sam George) has disclosed that his ministry is preparing to introduce a bill before Parliament to tackle the growing threat of misinformation and disinformation in Ghana.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Roland Walker on TV3, the Minister emphasized the urgent need for legislative action, noting that even Parliament itself had fallen victim to misleading information recently. "The ministry will be coming again to deal with the issues of mis- and disinformation with legislation to this House.
And I will urge members of Parliament to support it," he stated.
Sam George pointed out that the spread of false information had disrupted parliamentary proceedings more than once in the past week. "Even in this chamber yesterday, there was misinformation.
