The Trades Union Congress (TUC) has reiterated its strong opposition to the privatisation of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), citing concerns over the potential consequences of such a move.
In an interview on Citi FM's Eyewitness News on Thursday April 10, Dr Kwabena Nyarko Otoo, Director of Policy and Research at the TUC, expressed the union's stance, arguing that privatisation, as experienced over the past four decades, has consistently failed to deliver positive outcomes. "We are against, and our view is that privatisation as we have known in the last 40 years since structural adjustment began has gotten a bad name.
It's been bastardised across the world," Dr.
Otoo stated.
