The Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Richard Ofori Boadi, has signaled all persons occupying pavements and unauthorised spaces in the Central Business District of the city to vacate ahead of a major decongestion exercise on April 16.

The newly-confirmed city mayor says his administration intends to use sustainable means to ensure a lasting solution to the problem. "If you are selling on the pavement, adjust yourself, if you are in the middle of any dual carriage road, especially in the Central Business District, then you have to take steps to get out of the place because from Wednesday we will be coming", Mr Boadi said.

He emphasised, "I have a different strategy of decongestion.

I don't believe in bringing military men there.
