The Ghana Used Clothing Dealers Association - Accra has launched a strong protest against what it calls the ongoing defamation of the second-hand clothing business and the damage to Ghana's international reputation caused by the OR Foundation.
On Thursday, April 10, 2025, the association decided to close all used clothing shops and businesses in Accra, particularly within the bustling Kantamanto market, as a form of peaceful resistance.
The strike was organized to express discontent with the OR Foundation's narrative of the industry, which the association claims misrepresents the reality of the second-hand clothing trade in Ghana.
In a statement, the Kantamanto traders sharply criticized the OR Foundation for spreading misleading information in international publications.
