The National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA) has confirmed the shooting incident at the Adventist Senior High School that has caused a serious eye injury to a female student.

They announced the confirmation after the authority undertook an initial investigative inspection into the firearm incident that occurred at Adventist Senior High School at Bantama, on Friday, April 4, 2025.

In a statement from the Public Relations Unit of NaSIA, it said a 16-year-old male second-year student was reported to have brought a locally manufactured pistol to school and accidentally discharged it during break time, resulting in a serious eye injury to a female classmate.

The school's administration swiftly administered first aid at the infirmary, transferred the victim to the Kwadaso SDA Hospital, and later to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for further medical treatment, it added.
